His Biography
Born in Bari on September 5, 1964 to father Benito, a driver, and mother Teresa, a shop assistant, Tommaso Maurizio spent most of his youth with Tommaso, his paternal grandfather, who passed on to him a passion for art and architecture by taking him to visit historical sites and monuments in the Apulian capital. Another ever-present and fundamental figure for the young man's artistic growth was grandfather Pietro, a printer who loved art and was a collector. Since birth, he has suffered from bilateral hearing loss, that is, hearing loss in both ears. This has never been a limitation for him: on the contrary, the suffering that could have resulted sometimes poured into ever new creative processes, so much so that his passion for art was always very strong even during his years at technical school; confirming this were his excellent grades and his desire to attend art history lessons in the afternoon. His love for travel was also very strong: he often traveled with his father Benito for work, stopping in Rome, whose historical and artistic fervor always greatly fascinated Tommaso. In the 1980s, he enrolled in the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Bari (which he left after a short time), independently attending classes in English. Well-informed about the local art scene, he participated in numerous art exhibition openings, where he met Graziella, a Calabrian teacher whom he married in 1991. Together they adopted Alexandra, a Belarusian girl. Working in the road sector as a state surveyor, he has never abandoned his love for art and travel. Since the late 1990s, he has actively participated in art exhibitions, competitions, and fairs, selling works and winning awards.
