His long artistic research is marked by different cycles: written painting, artist's books (Rencontres Internationales in Marseille from 2000 to 2014, etc.), textile design (International Miniartextil Exhibitions in Como, etc.). In 1995, the Orditi & Trame series of self-published catalogs was born.
In the last twenty years, he has devoted himself to telling the story of the city and its chaotic humanity.
He has exhibited in more than 1300 solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums (among others: Museo Didattico della Seta in Como, Museo dell’Infiorata in Genzano, Museo S. Maria di Cerrate in Lecce, Musèe de l’Impression sur Etoffes in Mulhouse, Spazio Mantero in Como, Salons de l’hotel de Ville in Montrouge, Museo di Palazzo Mocenigo in Venice, Fondazione Venanzo Crocetti in Rome, Musèe de la Tapisserie in Tournai, Museo Carlo Bilotti in Rome with a permanent installation, Fondazione Pescarabruzzo, Museo Jean Lurcat in Angers, etc.), in Italy and abroad.
He has benefited from the presentation of well-known art critics. His works have been acquired by museums and public and private collections. One of the historical founders of Fiber Art in Italy.
The activity of Mauro Molinari captivates and convinces, for some time now... he has managed to outline and determine a consistent and unique pictorial value, which allows him to be immediately recognizable... he manages, fundamentally, to specify and continue to define very particular compositions, with a strong playful impact, which are part of the participatory aspect of his pictorial action... His very successful verifications are rechecked elaborations of visual proposals, of undoubted expressive quality, as well as thoughtful illuminating meanings and diaristic accents of a common "idem sentire", of remarkable and subtle criticism of the prevailing social fragmentation, albeit of calculated playful intensity... For some time, his images have been on the vibrant art scene and the quality imprinted emerges, which determines a highly appreciable style. His works are a silent conversation between certain dialectical languages and explanatory verifications of a rare emotional participation, which with well-structured syntax, from executive awareness and well-calculated balances, is made metaphorical of metropolitan verifications to become metropolitan sensitivities.
