His Biography
Born and lives in Trento in 1950. She graduated from the “Alessandro Vittoria” Art Institute of Trento and later obtained a degree in Sociology from the University of Trento. Married and mother of two children. She devoted herself to teaching Art Education in various state and private schools from 1978 to August 31, 2011, the date of her retirement.
She exhibited for the first time at the "3rd Biennial of Painting and Graphics of the Valle dei Laghi (1977)" obtaining the first prize out of competition for graphics with the work "The Ear of Dionysius." Subsequently, she participated in several group exhibitions at the local level. She drew some color plates (female figures dressed in folk costumes) for the work "Proverbs of Trentino" by the ethnologist Umberto Raffaelli (Giunti – Martello publisher 1981). She painted a stained glass window dedicated to Don Bosco in the "Maria Ausiliatrice" middle school in Trento. After an almost thirty-year reduction in artistic activity due to family commitments from 1983 until her retirement, in 2012 she intensified her activity, also resuming participation in exhibitions. Her artistic production is eclectic: she opposes that kind of "compulsion to repeat" leading to self-imposed stylistic features, which for her would mean the subjugation of her free creativity to the needs of technical coherence. In line with the ideas of Stirner's "The Ego and Its Own," it can therefore be said that "her works belong to her and not she to her works."

The Critique
The art critic and curator Roberta Mezzadra defined her as “an artist of great chromatic sensitivity... a translator of pure emotion, she knows how to touch the strings and forces of interiority and imagination but above all... she is also a psychologist... she is very good, very promising and very intense.” - Regarding the painting “Siberian Tears” she expressed herself in these terms: “a work of this kind is the representation, the quintessence of iconographic art, of primordial art, where this search... images, dreams, fears, figurations that are not figurations... movements, states of mind, contrasts truly find a reconciliation, despite itself, in color. A beautiful work, of great refinement, as I said earlier, but of great conceptualization.
The art magazine Biancoscuro expressed itself as follows: “we extend our compliments on behalf of the Critical Council, which has well evaluated your art, full of originality and creative drive...”
On various occasions, the art critic, Prof. Aldo Maria Pero expressed himself as follows: “The Trentino-born Annamaria Adessi... after dedicating herself at the beginning mainly to graphics, today her main interest is painting... in which she shows the desire to escape the slavery of a predetermined style, claiming the possibility of painting according to inspiration. In fact, her work is free from any label and shows remarkable creative eclecticism. Figurative canvases alternate, often with notable results, with others that are abstract, informal or symbolic” and then “we want to praise her dual artistic virtue, made of poetic and winged visions translated into images entrusted to a visionary style” recognizing her “pleasant creative imagination.” “Creative and eclectic while remaining faithful to an intimate stylistic coherence that derives directly from inspiration, the object of her observation is constituted by human manifestations, sometimes narrated with sympathy and participation and at other times with criticism and sarcasm.” - Annamaria Adessi is a particular character in the sense that she is a thinking artist who always has reasons to express in her paintings. Paintings that are not only a visual, aesthetic component, but also a concept to which conditions are provided to fly into the world, that is, to be seen in the world.” Regarding a group of six works submitted to his judgment: “In some the clarity of style prevails, in others the strength of the content; there is always a first-rate mind and hand.”
The ArtExpertise Gallery, in Florence, in inviting me to participate in the exhibition “CONCEPTUAL. THOUGHT AND REFLECTION” (which I was unable to attend) thus motivated the invitation: At the base of contemporary artistic research, in the attempt to break the most traditional and standardized schemes, there is a research that starts from increasingly conceptual bases and then frees itself in progress during the creative process. Works such as “Elevation”, “Technological Seduction” or “Homage to Pliny the Elder” perfectly reflect the message that the exhibition would like to convey to the observer's eye.
Within the framework of the “Artist of the Year Trophy 2015” organized at the Hotel Miramare and Bristol in Cesenatico by ArtExpò Gallery, this judgment was expressed regarding the works “Overlaps” and “The Arabian Phoenix Reborn as a Bird of Prey”: “Original pictorial interpretations translated with intense and renewed emotion. The material graft depicts all her interiority, drawing inspiration from the figurative style, to shape it with her pictorial message, rich in dreamlike perceptions.”
Claudio Cavalieri, president of the Association Spazio Eventart - total art, on the occasion of her participation in the “flash solo exhibition” wrote: “she has an experimental imprint... abstract experimentations and transformation of reality through forms, colors and signs.”
