His Biography
He was born in Rome in 1954.
In the early period of his life, spent in the countryside of Ostia Antica, he was fascinated by nature and all its manifestations.
He seeks the musicality of the image and finds in Tuscia, where he lives, an endless resource of subjects and where he can finally be moved again by nature, by the old views of the villages. His self-taught work in Corchiano enriches his research on colors, tones, and the architectures that surround him, not to copy them but to bear witness to a world that is dying along with its values.
He has participated in numerous group art exhibitions, the last event he took part in was his solo exhibition at the MEGA ART Art Gallery in Corchiano Vt, which received great acclaim from both the public and critics.
The Critique
AUGUSTO BARBERINI is a landscape artist endowed with masterful technique.
His works, which he paints directly on site, are extremely accurate in their details which, even though he considers himself a "realist" painter, verge on hyperrealism.
Some, like the work "The Oak at Castellaccio," seem to be almost a form of "augmented reality."
Looking at one of his panels, our gaze gets lost in these landscapes and the viewer has the feeling of venturing into the lanes or alleys of ancient Italian villages or wandering on a beach in search of old, unused fishing boats.
