About Her Art
Rome is the city where I have always lived, even though I was born in Lecce, for me the most beautiful expression of Italian Baroque, a reality I "discovered" only at the age of fourteen.
Over time, I have alternated my passion for painting with various paths of study, work, and social commitment. Since the age of ten I have experimented in a self-taught way with various techniques such as tempera, oil, and watercolor, then attended the Life Drawing course at the S. Giacomo School of Ornamental Arts in Rome and finally, since 2005, have participated in art workshops at the National Anthroposophical Headquarters in via Saliceti in Rome.
Graduated in Political Science at La Sapienza in Rome, I specialized post-graduation in Labor Law and Industrial Relations, worked for almost forty years at the State Railways, and for over twenty years, I have been involved in the union and institutions on the issue of gender equality. My book “Between Work and Family,” a guide for younger generations on the topic of parenting, Cafi publisher, which has seen several editions, as well as numerous articles in specialized magazines, is dedicated to this last topic.
In "holding together" my artistic, human, and social interests with work commitments, other subjects I have successfully cultivated in my “outer” life path are communication (since 2005 I have been a freelance journalist), training, and the design of projects funded by the European Union, working for several years in institutions in Brussels.
At forty-nine, finally, everything I had undertaken came together with the encounter with Anthroposophy.
Since then, I have deepened the theme of autobiography with Guido Guidi and started studying color technique according to the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, founder of Anthroposophy or Spiritual Science, with Umbra Perchiazzi, dedicating myself continuously to my watercolors, participating in exhibitions, workshops, and cultural initiatives, and organizing study and painting groups for adults and children myself.
From the watercolors mixed on the paper, what lives in the soul takes shape, and it is possible, in a later moment of observing the work done, to grasp the essence of the inner feeling, define its outlines, taking care of oneself, a real therapy that is activated through the different properties of colors and is able to support and heal us from soul wounds.
“To see science through the eyes of the artist and art through those of life... Art is not an idea in sensible form, but a sensible reality in the form of an idea,” is what Rudolf Steiner maintains, inspired by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's theory of colors, a constant reminder for me in carrying out my artistic activity and in my life.
