Native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA currently residing in Norman, Oklahoma USA. She is primarily a painter, but also involved in sculpture. Karin received her BA in Art Education from East Central State University in Ada, Oklahoma, an MLS in Museum Studies from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, and a BFA in Studio Art from the University of Oklahoma in 2005.  She has studied under many excellent painters and sculptors at the university. Her work has been shown all over the state of Oklahoma, USA, including the Oklahoma Artist Annual 1972 Juried Art Exhibit at Philbrook Art Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA, “Kirkos” Juried Sculpture Exhibit at Quartz Mountain in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, USA. Her capstone exhibit was held at the Lightwell Gallery at the University of Oklahoma Fine Art School in 2005. She has also exhibited at Garden Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia, USA in 1978, and at Skulpurhaven in Thy, Denmark in 2011. She was an art teacher in the public school system, and taught many art workshops. Her work has been influenced by Marc Chagall, Mary Frank, aboriginal art, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Frida Kahlo. She calls herself an abstract artist that uses spontaneous drips and brush strokes in an expressive manner to create fantasy and ethereal images. These images are autobiographical and expressive of dreams, healing, and transformative thought. Karin states that “I escape into my paintings into a dreamlike reality, and conjure images from my past. Expressive symbols, color, organic forms, and the story are very important in my art.”
