Painting is a way for me to express emotions, reflect on my experiences and tell a story. I am inspired by everyday situations, nature and people I meet. My artistname is Juffrouw Springtouw and I make paintings, illustrations, collages and animations. In the Netherlands, female teachers are called Juffrouw and Springtouw means skipping rope and stands for fun, connection, creativity and playfulness. Before I started working fully as an artist, I worked in education. My work is mostly figurative, sometimes abstract or a combines of the two. My works stand out because of the use of color and the subtle images. I prefer to work with watercolor paint and ink on paper or canvas. Occasionally I use other materials
