Sulla sua Arte

I am an artist, illustrator, poet and elected member of the Free Painters, Sculptors & Printmakers, a British art movement with a 70 year history www.freepaintersandsculptors.co.uk I live and work in Silverdale, Lancashire, UK, an area of outstanding natural beauty, which has a profound influence on my current work.

My varied career has ranged over many aspects of art and design, including art education; lecturing at several colleges, where I taught graphic design, painting, illustration, critical studies, and art history.

I also established my own gallery, studio and framing workshop showcasing my paintings and prints and contributed to exhibitions and open studio events. A range of my visual works are self-published as giclée and photo-litho prints to archival standards. I also work to commission so please contact me to discuss potential projects.

My work has evolved through illustrative, precise, graphic images into expressive abstraction which naturally migrates into representation, exploring the beautiful landscape around me here on the edge of Morecambe Bay in northern England, with the coast offering ever-changing natural drama.

I make art as a record of experience, memories, dreams, places, actions, intentions and motivations. In my painting, drawing and writing it is a fascination with language, images, ideas and the materials we use to explore them which provides the continuum linking the various phases of my work.
